Everyone's favourite pretentious electro outfit IAMX are back with another shiny track from recent album Volatile Times.

Supposedly written about "a child of the infinite," Bernadette sounds like the soundtrack to some twisted fairground scene in a horror film (or at least a particularly creepy scene from Scooby Doo). While catchy and sleek like much of IAMX's work, the strings and rather trippy theramin just send shivers down my spine. If I were Bernadette I'd be a bit freaked out.

Here's the new video from sleazy synth band IAMX, My Secret Friend.

Chris Corner makes for an oddly attractive woman.




I love it, it's as dark and sensual as ever, but isn't as primal as some of their other stuff, which makes for a nice change. I think it's definitely a track that will grow on you over time, as the lack of urgency that seems to be present in most of their other work isn't really a factor here; this isn't exactly a track that grabs you by the hair and spins you around in circles until you vomit. Nevertheless, I think it's a great track to relax to, mayhaps whilst drinking cocktails of some sort in a swish French discotheque.

I know I'm a bit late off the mark on this one but I haven't had much time to put it up here until now. I'm warning you in advance I will be a bit swamped for the next few days so I may not post as much, isn't college life grand?



Anyway, here's the new offering from one of my favouritest bands of the moment, IAMX.

For those of you still oblivious to this wonderfully quirky electro outfit, IAMX is the latest project from Chris Corner of Sneaker Pimps fame, and is already unleashing their wave of darkness infused synth pop in Europe as we speak. The band are noted for being somewhat controversial in their song title and lyric choices; 'Spit it Out' is one of their most popular tracks, whilst on 'The Alternative' there's a lyric that slightly disturbed me; 'We all wanna fuck ourselves and rape the world-' no, I don't know either.
